The Bachelor of Environmental Science and Sustainability program provides a comprehensive curriculum that includes courses in core natural and sustainability sciences, supported by a strong liberal arts foundation. This program aims to train students from diverse backgrounds to comprehend interconnected systems and adopts a transdisciplinary approach to ensure graduates can build a nation ready to face the challenges of the post-SDG era beyond 2030. The program also cultivates critical thinking, problem-solving, creativity, and collaboration among students. It addresses the growing demand for professionals with skills in sustainable development in Bangladesh, where stakeholders ranging from the government to private companies are transitioning towards a sustainable future, ensuring social harmony, safeguarding the environment, and promoting positive economic growth.
All students must complete foundation and general education courses, including Pre-University, General Education Foundation (GEF), ULAB Core (UCC), General Education (GED), and Essential Skills modules. For major courses, students must complete 23 core courses, and can choose from two concentration areas: natural systems and social systems, consisting of 6 courses each.
